You are a smart, experienced, creative and naturally inquisitive Tester, who has a strong passion for testing and technology. You believe in the importance of embodying our clients’ brand into the overall experience and you have a strong understanding or interest of TV apps.

Role Responsibilities:

• To work within the Analyst team to assist with the preparation of test plans and the testing of software to company guidelines and standards.
• To assist in the preparation of test plans and test scripts.
• To ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release.
• To prepare and maintain test plans for use on automated testing tools.
• To prepare a test plan and test scripts to test each software component and demonstrate the business condition under test and the expected results.
• To provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements.
• To provide estimates and feedback to the Software Development team for project scheduling purposes.

Other responsibilities:

• Liaising with Project Managers
• Working to the specified timeframe or budget
• Communication of job status to project leader
• Daily submission of detailed timesheets
• Contributing to the positive growth of work environment and Analyst team
• Demonstrate and maintain a positive attitude to all assignments

You can stay focused and follow defined protocols during live events, even when several issues are in play at once. You are comfortable making decisions during live operations with the guidance available, and you know when to escalate.

Required

• 1+ years' experience in live streaming or broadcast environments
• Hands-on experience with live online video streaming, 24/7 channel monitoring, and system and alert monitoring
• Experience working with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or Alibaba)
• Demonstrated familiarity with broadcast systems, IP formats, and streaming protocols and experience in investigating and resolving ingest, encoding, transcoding, and packaging failures (knowledge across AWS Elemental MediaLive, MediaConvert, MediaPackage, and MediaTailor is highly valued)
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialist audiences
• Available for evening and weekend shifts as required by global live sport schedules
• Ability to produce reliable, clear process documentation

Valued

• PowerShell or command-line scripting experience
• Previous experience in an external client-facing technical role
• CDN Familiarity and hands-on experience with major CDN hosting providers such as Akamai, CloudFront, or Fastly
• Demonstrated familiarity with the protocols and systems used in this role, however acquired (degree-educated background welcome but not required)
• Genuine interest in sport — useful for context on the events being supported

A successful TechOps engineer at Deltatre brings interest in the platforms (not just willingness to monitor them), comfort working through ambiguous symptoms in real time, and the discipline to leave the runbook better than they found it. Sport context helps but is not a substitute for technical depth.

Process and what to expect

• 1-hour Technical round of Interview: we will deep dive on your experience and collect examples of the responsibilities you’ve been dealing with in your past experience. It will be a chance do deep dive on the role and for you to ask questions.
• 1-hour Competency Based Interview: we are going to ask you some situational questions around how you deal with real-life scenarios at work. Easier doing it, more than explaining it!
