Maximo Solution Architect

We are seeking a highly accomplished and technical Senior Maximo Solution Architect for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take on a premier leadership and engineering capacity within the enterprise asset management (EAM) stream, driving the core architectural blueprint, configuration strategy, and multi-system integration for high-profile platform modernization initiatives.

As a principal Maximo authority, you will bridge the gap between legacy corporate processes and modern, cloud-era asset infrastructure. Operating as a dedicated technical advisor, you will lead the transition from SAP PM to Maximo Manage, ensuring optimized end-to-end work lifecycles. This role demands an elite consultant who can translate abstract business requirements directly into standard out-of-the-box (OOTB) Maximo configurations, orchestrate complex data migrations, engineer secure middleware integrations, and provide technical governance across all delivery environments.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid / Localized Delivery Framework)

Contract Duration: 12 months (with two optional 6-month extensions)

Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Platform Configuration
Provide senior-level functional expertise to architect, configure, and refine core Maximo objects including Service Requests (SR), Work Orders (WO), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Assets, Locations, Job Plans, and Inspections.

Execute thorough fit-gap evaluations and solution designs strictly favoring Maximo out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities, defining boundaries between configuration adjustments and system extensions.

Design, build, and validate complex system logic utilizing Maximo Workflows, Escalations, Security Groups, Start Centers, KPIs, Domains, and advanced Automation Scripts.

Establish and configure the comprehensive end-to-end work management lifecycle extending from initial service intake, planning, and scheduling through to field execution and closure.

Integration Framework & Data Migration
Define, map, and validate scalable enterprise data exchanges utilizing the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), specifying Object Structures, Enterprise Services, and Publish Channels.

Structure detailed integration specifications connecting Maximo Manage with modern enterprise layers such as SAP, SAP BTP, and Maximo Real Estate & Facilities (MREF/TRIRIGA).

Govern data migration readiness, executing legacy-to-target data mapping, formulation of structural data validation rules, and rigorous cross-system reconciliation.

Analyze system dependencies and triage multi-workstream defects, confidently distinguishing between configuration bugs, raw data anomalies, and integration messaging faults.

Testing, Environment Control & Enablement
Author and review highly organized technical artifacts, including configuration workbooks, functional blueprints, data loading rules, and target-state test scenarios.

Provide active quality validation support throughout System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles.

Advise on environment promotion strategies and deployment readiness controls across development, test, pre-production, and production staging environments.

Actively manage and recommend risk mitigation options during critical go-live cutovers, platform hypercare, and stabilization phases.

Deliver structured knowledge transfer sessions, design walkthroughs, and technical job aids to enable long-term operational platform sustainment.

Qualifications
Core Technical & Maximo Mastery
Professional Maximo Tenure: 10+ years of progressive, hands-on application configuration experience implementing IBM Maximo Asset Management solutions within production environments.

Lifecycle Delivery Track Record: Proven success delivering a minimum of three (3) full-lifecycle Maximo implementations operating explicitly as a primary Application Consultant or Solution Architect (not as an end-user, super-user, or purely administrative project manager).

Work Management Expertise: Extensive practical experience configuring end-to-end Work Management ecosystems, covering SR-to-WO lifecycles, PM hierarchies, job plan structures, and automated contractor/vendor workflows.

Advanced Tooling Competency: Deep technical mastery of advanced configuration tools, including Organization and Site setup, Database Configuration, Application Designer, Security Groups, and role-based access controls.

MIF Integration Architecture: High proficiency configuring the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), mapping REST/JSON API patterns, and writing integration specifications for enterprise ERP systems.

Data Model & Schema Depth: In-depth knowledge of the core Maximo data model, including structural asset mapping, spatial locations, multi-tier classifications, and meters.

Testing, Migration & Methodology Attributes
Hands-on Data Transformation: Direct experience executing legacy EAM data conversions, handling validation scripts, data load cycle support, and structural backend data reconciliation.

Environment Diagnostics Capability: Proven capability to diagnose complex platform bugs, manage test metrics, and drive environment promotion strategies within structured Agile or hybrid project teams.

Leadership & Soft Skills
Consultative Requirements Synthesis: Strong ability to work directly with business users to translate intricate operational workflows into Maximo configurations rather than simply documentation.

Analytical Problem Solving: Superior critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and data troubleshooting capabilities to navigate complex system blocks and minimize platform customization.

Communication Excellence: Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with polished ease when explaining architectural trade-offs to senior executive stakeholders.
