Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Scarborough, ON. This role is ideal for a skilled CNC professional who can independently set up, program, and operate CNC lathes while producing precision components to engineering specifications.
The CNC Lathe Operator will work in a manufacturing environment that values quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented machinist who takes pride in accurate setups, efficient cycle times, clean workmanship, and producing parts that meet tight tolerances. The successful candidate will join a collaborative shop team with supportive supervision, clear production standards, and a focus on delivering high-quality products on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes for rough and finish turning, threading, tapping, grooving, drilling, boring, and finishing operations.
- Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, G codes, and M codes to ensure correct program selection and part production.
- Download, edit, verify, and adjust CNC programs as needed to match tooling, revisions, drawings, and setup requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, and verniers to inspect parts and confirm dimensional accuracy.
- Complete first-off and last-off inspections, record production details, report nonconformities, and ensure finished parts are properly deburred, identified, and tagged.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area while supporting efficient setups, reduced cycle times, continuous improvement, and ISO process requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $47,840 to $49,920 per year.
