Job description

Our professional services client is seeking a Claims Processing Specialist to process and verify claims data within advisory operations

Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension

Location: Remote - might be required to go to local client office

Hourly Pay Rate: $23/- per hour

Join a high-performing advisory team supporting a large-scale claims initiative within a national professional services organization. This role focuses on accurate claims processing, data verification, and claimant communication in a structured and detail-oriented environment. The position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to quality assurance and regulatory compliance while engaging empathetically with claimants.

Note to Applicants: This role will require the review of materials of a highly sensitive nature, that may include descriptions of physical and sexual abuse, racism, self-harm, and other triggering materials. Applicants are encouraged to consider whether such topics will be significantly distressing or upsetting for them.

Must Haves

  • Bilingualism (English/French)
  • 1+ year in data entry, claims processing, or related administrative support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient in working with data and databases

Nice to Have

  • 1+ year of experience in phone support
  • Experience working with VoIP or internet-based phone systems
  • Previous exposure to professional services or advisory environments
  • High school diploma; post-secondary education

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, faxes, and phone calls
  • Enter, review, and verify claim data from electronic and paper forms into standardized databases
  • Scan, organize, and securely maintain physical and digital documentation
  • Code claim information based on policy documentation and perform quality assurance checks
  • Identify discrepancies or red flags for escalation and review
  • Respond to claimant inquiries by phone and email with professionalism and empathy
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, privacy laws, and regulatory standards
