About the Opportunity
A well-established organization is seeking a Senior Contracts Management Specialist to lead the development, implementation, and management of governance frameworks, procurement processes, and contract administration across IT, construction, and general services projects.
This role is responsible for drafting and negotiating agreements, managing contracts from award to close-out, and administering claims and dispute resolution processes, including settlement agreements. The position offers a hands‑on opportunity to contribute to procurement modernization initiatives and to work on complex, large-scale projects within a structured, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement governance frameworks, supporting procedures, and standardized contract and procurement templates
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for IT, construction, and general services projects
- Administer contracts from award through close-out, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures
- Manage claims and disputes, including drafting settlement agreements and coordinating resolution processes
- Support procurement modernization or transformation initiatives, contributing expertise to improve processes and tools
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management, providing guidance on contracts, risks, and governance issues
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and records for all procurement and contract activities
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree, diploma, or certification in Law, Paralegal Studies, Contract Management, or a related field
- 10-15 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or related roles in a large organization
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain functions and full contract lifecycle management
- Experience with procurement modernization or transformation initiatives considered an asset
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
- Experience in large infrastructure projects within a government or regulated environment is an asset (e.g., transportation, energy)
- Education in Business Administration is an asset
