Position Summary

:

This course offers an introduction to the anthropological study of health, illness, and healing practices across cultures and societies. Through examining various case studies, theoretical frameworks, and ethnographic research, students will explore the cultural, social, economic, and political dimensions of health and healthcare systems. We aim to cover cultural constructions of illness and wellness; traditional and “western” biomedical healing rituals; illness as a symbolic and communication practice; matters of incommensurate frameworks, etc.

Qualifications – Required Academic Degree: Master’s Degree, PhD preferred
