The Opportunity:
Promotional spend is one of the largest commercial investments. We’re looking for a Promotional Effectiveness Manager to own how we measure it, govern it, and continuously improve it — turning promotional ROI into a discipline the commercial team trusts and acts on. You’ll be the credible voice on Total Promo ROI: leading the monthly review cadence with senior commercial leaders, embedding ROI thinking into how Sales, Marketing, and RGM plan and execute, and building the tools and models that make promotional decisions faster and sharper.

Compensation: $96, - $, CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive
The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Own Total Promo ROI: Be the subject matter expert on promotional performance. Analyze trends, deliver clear recommendations, and continuously raise the bar on return from promotional investment.
- Lead the Promo ROI Review Cadence: Run the monthly review with senior commercial leaders — bringing transparency, accountability, and follow-through on the actions that come out of it.
- Translate Analytics into Action with Sales & Marketing: Partner across Sales, Marketing, and Finance to turn promotional insight into sales-ready stories and decisions that change how plans are built and executed.
- Coach & Build Capability Across Commercial Teams: Coaching cross-functional partners on best practices and analytical tools to optimize promotional effectiveness.
- Build Scalable Tools & Processes: Design the tools, processes, and standards that make promotional evaluation consistent, repeatable, and ready for decisions across teams.
- Develop & Maintain Analytical Models: Build and govern the data models behind promotional ROI to ensure timely, accurate, and trusted performance metrics.
What You’ll Bring:
Experience
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in promotional analytics, RGM, or commercial finance, with a track record of driving promotional ROI improvement in a CPG or comparable commercial environment
Commercial Skills
- Deep expertise in promotional strategy, profitability analysis, and P&L drivers
- Proven storyteller — able to land insight with senior commercial leaders and translate analytics into commercial action
- Experience influencing cross-functional partners across Sales, Marketing, and Finance without direct authority
- Track record of change management and capability building — shifting how teams think and work, not just what they report
- Experience with NIQ data and methodologies is preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and Power BI
- Strong experience in data analysis, SQL, and building scalable analytical models
- Comfortable using Python to navigate and manipulate large datasets
- Proven skills in process automation to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency of promotional analysis
- Experience with RGM optimization platforms (e.g., NIQ Revenue Optimizer, XTEL, Periscope by McKinsey, Buynomics) and Trade Promotion Management (TPM) tools is highly valued
Education
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or related discipline
- Graduate degree or analytics/finance-related certification is an asset
