Job description
We are a dual shift-worker family employed in refinery operations seeking a trustworthy, reliable and long-term Family Assistant / Nanny to help support our home and care for our two children (ages 3 and 5). This position is approximately 10 hours per week on average, with a flexible schedule due to rotating shift work. Additional hours may occasionally be available for early morning coverage or overnight care. We are looking for someone warm, dependable, organized and comfortable becoming part of our family routine. Childcare Responsibilities: • Care for children ages 3 and 5 • Play, activities and engagement • Assist with morning routines and meals/snacks • Occasional daycare/school support if required (optional if applicable) • Maintain a safe and positive environment Household Responsibilities: • Light housekeeping / household reset • Kitchen tidying and dishes • Laundry washing, folding and putting away • Toy organization and general tidying • Meal prep / simple family meal preparation • Helping keep the household organized Schedule / Coverage Needs: • Approx. 10 hrs/week average • Flexible schedule due to rotating refinery shifts • Occasional early morning coverage (approx. 4:00–4:30 AM start) • Occasional overnight care required • Advance notice provided whenever possible Requirements / Qualifications: ✔ Experience caring for young children ✔ CPR / First Aid preferred ✔ Vulnerable Sector Check required or willingness to obtain ✔ Non-smoker preferred ✔ Reliable transportation preferred ✔ References required ✔ Comfortable with flexible scheduling and shift-work family needs ✔ Comfortable with childcare plus household support responsibilities Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications (approx. $28–32/hr). Additional compensation / premium rates available for overnight care and early morning coverage.
