Job descriptionProcurement Superintendent Atlantic Operations is a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, an ASX listed gold producer and explorer with mining assets in Canada and Australia.
We are currently seeking a Procurement Superintendent to support our Atlantic Operations. This role is a full time, permanent position, reporting to the Finance & Commercial Manager and will be based out of our Stellarton or Dartmouth office.
The Opportunity
Oversee the administration, negotiation, and execution of contracts for goods and services.
Lead sourcing and tendering processes, including RFP preparation and evaluation cycles.
Drive supplier relationship management to ensure reliability, quality, and ethical sourcing.
Identify and implement strategic cost management initiatives.
Monitor industry trends and integrate best practices into procurement strategy.
Guide operational managers in scope development and contract formation.
Maintain procurement data, documentation, and records to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
Conduct market research to identify and evaluate new suppliers and products.
Integrate procurement planning with project master schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver compliant sourcing and minimize risk exposure.
Qualifications
At least 10 years relevant purchasing, sourcing, tendering, and contract negotiation experience.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP, Ariba, Oracle) and MS Office Suite.
Exceptional commercial acumen, with a strong business focus.
Proven ability to develop systems, procedures, and guides.
Outstanding communication skills, including negotiation, influencing, presentation, and written skills.
A degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; specialized certifications such as SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) or PMP is desired
