Job description
Quality and Production Engineering Manager Short Description The mission of the Quality and Production Engineering Manager is to ensure reliable processes and defect‑free products by building a culture of quality, optimizing performance, protecting the customer, and driving continuous improvement across the entire value chain.

Our Business: Pulsar Measurement is a worldwide leader in ultrasonic instrumentation for wastewater, industrial, and environmental markets. Since 1986 we have developed, manufactured, and marketed industrial flow and level monitoring instruments including ultrasonic level transmitters, clamp‑on ultrasonic flow meters, and open channel flow meters.

Your Role: The mission of the Quality and Production Engineering Manager is to ensure reliable processes and defect‑free products by building a culture of quality, optimizing performance, protecting the customer, and driving continuous improvement across the entire value chain.

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring products consistently meet customer requirements, defined specifications and regulatory standards. This includes translating customer requirements into measurable quality criteria and ensuring they are consistently achieved on the shop floor.

Build and sustain a culture of quality by setting clear quality standards, coaching teams on problem solving and promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Implement and sustain Quality Management Systems (QMS). This role is responsible for internal and external audits, management reviews, document control and risk‑based thinking.

Reduce defects, scrap, and rework through root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and lean and six sigma tools where applicable.

Systematically lower the cost of poor quality.

Assure supplier quality and incoming material reliability.

Manage production engineering and document control team focused on leading improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce variability, and improve throughput. This includes cross‑functional projects with operations, engineering, R&D, and supply chain.

Manage customer complaints and lead investigations using data‑driven decision making, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective resolution to all product‑related concerns.

Position Requirements: You possess a passion and affinity for Process Automation and enjoy working within a team environment and serving internal customers. You come with strong experience in manufacturing and engineering, working with data and executing continuous improvement projects to achieve the overall Pulsar Measurement growth objectives.

5+ years in a quality management or supervision role with an emphasis on manufacturing and the associated support functions and aligned to fostering a continuous development culture throughout the organisation.

Electronics manufacturing and assembly experience a plus.

Demonstrated success defining and collaborating with growth‑enabling manufacturing principles, to allow the best to double its size within 5 years.

A true “Team Player” who can work cross‑functionally to achieve results.

Ability to drive change and positively influence key stakeholders.

Ability to identify gaps and implement strategic change in an organized and systematic manner, with the ability to identify skills shortages and implement corrective action plans to develop staff, recruit A Players and build a high performing team.

Experience operating under ISO 9001 quality systems.
