The Performance Specialist is a subject matter expert within the Performance team responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of Programmatic media campaigns; ensuring optimal performance and delivering exceptional results for our clients. As a Performance Specialist, you are motivated and a self-starter who has a strong grasp of the Programmatic landscape with growing experience across the entire supply path, including all tier 1 DSPs, Ad Exchanges and SSPs. You are a rare breed that excels at in-platform technical work as well as strategic thinking. You also bring a collaborative mentality to your work by working with other digital specialties including Direct Digital, Social, Search and Analytics to provide unified digital recommendations for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Planning and Investment teams to ensure go-to-market plans are built with a cohesive overarching tactical approach that answers to briefed campaign objectives
- Build and execute campaigns in-platform to deliver on client KPIs
- Work with our centre of excellence teams, ensuring in-platform output is accurate according to media plan details
- Hands-on work with the analysis and optimization of campaign performance, ensuring best-in-class insights and recommendations
- Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends to inform Programmatic media strategies
- Work in alignment with platform partners and vendors, including DSPs, Ad Exchanges, SSPs and 3PV technology
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-3 years experience in a Programmatic trading role (agency, supplier or client)
- Experience buying across self-serve Programmatic platforms (DV360 is a must. Amazon DSP, TAM, TTD, etc. are a welcome addition)
- Experience operating in Retail media platforms considered a bonus (Loblaw Media, Criteo, Amazon)
- Strong grasp of the digital media and ad tech landscape
- Data-driven and analytical mindset

- Solutions and detail oriented
- Expert time management and prioritization acumen
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of applications (Excel, PPT)
- Experience in online media, campaign measurement, or a related industry (Marketing, Advertising, Finance, Consulting, etc.).
- Hands-on with performance media - not just academic exposure.
- Comfortable executing and optimizing campaigns across paid social and paid search (Meta/Instagram, Google Ads at a minimum).
- Strong analytical mindset and enjoys working with data to find insights, not just pull reports.
- Strong quantitative skills with experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data analysis and reporting).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Familiarity with ad serving tools such as DV360, SA360, CM360, and Sizmek.
- Knowledge of online advertising strategies, buying, and performance metrics.
- Experience with web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Omniture).
- Solid foundation in campaign execution, pacing, and optimization, including tagging and QA.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning, reporting) - this is critical.
- Experience using web analytics tools (Google Analytics preferred) to connect media performance to site behavior.
- Ability to translate performance data into clear, actionable insights, both internally and client-facing.
- Highly organized, proactive, and dependable with time management—someone who can juggle multiple campaigns without dropping details.
- Exposure to SQL and database management.
- Experience buying across self-serve Paid Social and Search platforms (Meta/Instagram, Google Ads, etc.)
- Curious and coachable, asks good questions and wants to understand the “why.”
- Clear communicator who can collaborate across media, data, and tech teams.
- A self-starter who takes ownership but knows when to flag risks early.
