As part of this group, the Finance Controllership team produces accurate, complete, and timely accounting records to support statutory, regulatory, and management reporting. As Senior Manager, Consolidation, you play a key role in CIBC’s consolidated financial close and disclosure process. In this individual contributor role, you’ll leverage your expertise to: Analyze financial results, prepare consolidation accounting adjustments, resolve intercompany transaction breaks, and validate foreign exchange revaluations. Address complex financial reporting issues, assess the impact of new initiatives, and implement effective solutions. Provide operational guidance on products and processes, and perform analytical reviews on accounting matters. Continuously look for ways to improve data management efficiency and deepen understanding of the business.* **Analytical thinking and insight** – Assess and structure high-volume, complex data from diverse sources, using sound judgment to extract relevant information, identify patterns, and communicate meaningful insights.* **Problem-solving and resolution** – Tackle financial reporting and complex accounting issues with a solutions-oriented mindset, making recommendations and implementing effective actions, especially when faced with ambiguity.* **Collaboration and cross-functional influence** – Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the bank, influencing outcomes on accounting and reporting matters.* **Organizational excellence** – Prioritize tasks, balance conflicting demands, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines by tracking open issues and following up promptly.**Who you are*** **You have hands-on experience in accounting operations and financial reporting.** You have at least **6 years** of experience in financial accounting roles in the financial services sector, with direct responsibility for accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting.* **You have worked within complex organizational structures.** Your experience includes organizations that have layered ownership structures and foreign operations across multiple currencies..* **You’re proficient in data analysis and general ledger systems.** You are highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and have experience using data management tools such as Power BI, Power Query, or Alteryx to navigate and analyze large, complex datasets.
