Analyst, ESG Data
to support sustainability strategy, reporting, and climate initiatives.

What will you be doing!
ESG Data Collection, Quality Control and Analysis
Collecting, compiling, and managing ESG data from multiple data owners into a centralized database.
Documenting and validating data collection methodologies while ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Analyzing ESG data to identify trends, interpret results, and support decision‑making.
Developing insights and analysis to support reports, dashboards, and sustainability initiatives.
Applying statistical techniques and modelling to forecast future performance based on historical data.
Analyzing data across areas such as GHG emissions, facilities, transportation, waste, and supply chain.
Providing guidance, training, and support to stakeholders on ESG data practices and requirements.
Greenhouse Gas Data Management, Analysis and Modelling
Supporting the collection, validation, and reporting of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions data.
Managing GHG data in alignment with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and evolving IFRS/CSSB standards.
Conducting research on best practices in carbon accounting, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Identifying opportunities to improve data quality, processes, and timeliness.
Developing proxy methodologies and estimation approaches to address data gaps.
Establishing practices and providing training to support Scope 3 supply chain data collection.
Operating and enhancing climate models to project emissions and reduction scenarios.
Sustainability Reporting
Overseeing ESG data quality, analysis, and the development of narratives and visualizations for reporting.
Contributing to the preparation of the annual Sustainability Report and climate disclosures.
Ensuring compliance with internal standards and external reporting frameworks.
Providing accurate and timely ESG data to AECL for their reporting requirements.
Developing reports and dashboards to communicate ESG performance to leadership, the Board, and stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
Education
Undergraduate university degree in business administration, economics, science, engineering, statistics or mathematics, or a combination of disciplines that include business and quantitative methods.
ESG / sustainability certifications are an asset.
Experience
Minimum of two years of experience (including co‑ops, internships and academic projects) in an academic or office environment.
Experience in supporting data collection, management, analytics and visualization.
Experience in providing data analysis in support of public‑facing reports and dashboards.
Experience in numerical modelling and statistical analysis to analyze datasets and forecast trends.
Experience using relational databases, advanced MS Excel and MS Power BI.
Experience working in a sustainability/ESG‑related context.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Deep analytical and critical thinking mindset.
Ability to work with datasets of varying sizes and complexities spanning a wide variety of topic areas.
Ability to validate data collection processes in consultation with a cross‑enterprise group of data owners.
Ability to apply basic statistical analyses to compare data trends over time.
Ability to develop narratives, graphics and reports to explain data trends.
Familiarity with requirements for greenhouse GHG inventory management.
Ability to use numerical models for GHG analysis and modelling.
Interest in continual learning on the use of technology, AI and automation for ESG data management, and in carbon accounting.
Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Power BI. Working knowledge of data management, verification and an analysis of data quality.
Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks / organizations. Familiarity with GHG accounting and emerging industry trends for ESG reporting.
Security Clearance Eligibility Required
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3‑5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty‑seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
