Position OverviewService New Brunswick (SNB), in partnership with the Student Financial Services Division (SFS) of the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL), is seeking an experienced
Business Analyst 2 to support the modernization and enhancement of the Student Financial Services platform.
The initiative focuses on improving client experience through modern online services, secure self-service functionality, enhanced communication capabilities, streamlined application processing, data migration, and automation of administrative services. The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to support the design, development, integration, and implementation of enterprise-level business applications.
The Business Analyst will support public-facing functionality enhancements and integrations with PETL’s existing internal Student Financial Services systems while contributing to Agile delivery practices and enterprise transformation initiatives.
Mandatory Requirements (M1 – M4)M1 – Education- University Degree or Post-Secondary Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or an equivalent program.
M2 – IM/IT Experience- Minimum 5 years of IM/IT experience related to:
- Design of business applications
- Development and implementation support
- Maintenance and enhancement of enterprise systems
- Business and systems analysis activities
M3 – Business Analyst Experience- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise-level application delivery environments.
M4 – Communication Skills- Demonstrated spoken and written English communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Eliciting and documenting business and functional requirements
- Preparing functional and non-functional requirement documents
- Developing user stories, wireframes, screen mock-ups, and use cases
- Creating and maintaining requirements traceability matrices
- Supporting Agile software development practices
- Conducting stakeholder workshops and facilitation sessions
- Performing current state and future state analysis
- Supporting test planning and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Documenting business workflows and process diagrams
- Supporting data analysis and executive reporting activities
- Collaborating with developers, SMEs, QA teams, and project stakeholders

Work Environment- Remote work is acceptable; however, onsite presence in Fredericton, NB may be required as needed.
- Candidate must be comfortable working in collaborative Agile team environments.
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.
