The Project Manager, Construction & Facilities is a new role responsible for the successful delivery of retail construction projects and the coordination of ongoing repairs and maintenance across the store network.
This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with corporate standards, while also maintaining operational efficiency through preventative maintenance programs, vendor management, and timely resolution of store-related issues.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee and track preventative maintenance programs (HVAC, fire/life safety, etc.)
- Support service desk operations and dispatch repair and maintenance requests support
- Manage major store incidents (e.g., floods, structural damage or façade repairs)
- Coordinate fixture orders, equipment replacements, and store-specific fixtures
- Support store closures, relocations, and landlord handovers
- Provide guidance on building systems and maintenance best practices
- Manage the full lifecycle of retail construction small projects including Repairs, renovations, and retrofits
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and construction plans
- Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company standards
- Coordinate permits and approvals with municipal and regulatory authorities
How will you succeed:
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
- 5–7+ years of experience in construction project management and/or facilities maintenance
- Experience in retail or multi-site environments is preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building systems, and lifecycle maintenance
- Understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Proven experience in budgeting, cost control, and contract management
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); AutoCAD is an asset
