R-410636Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 06/03/2026**About this opportunity:**The SAP Finance team within Cenovus’s Corporate Controllers Organization is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with expertise in SAP-enabled month-end close processes and financial reporting. This role is responsible for supporting accurate, complete, and timely financial close and reporting activities, while providing operational support to Financial Accounting and Finance stakeholders.The successful candidate will be a hands-on SAP finance professional with experience executing time-sensitive close activities, resolving system and data issues, supporting reporting solutions, and driving continuous process improvement. While direct SAP Finance Master Data maintenance is not required, an understanding of SAP master data structures and their impact on financial close and reporting is considered an asset.**What you’ll do:*** Execute SAP month-end close activities with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance to procedures* Manage FI & CO posting periods and support General Ledger and Controlling processes* Perform key close activities such as JV accounting & billing uploads to Energylink, Settlements (CATS, Orders, WBS), and Allocation cycles* Monitor and resolve SAP job failures, reconciliation issues (ECC to S/4), and SLT/CFIN errors* Support financial reporting by analyzing data and resolving discrepancies in SAP BW* Load and reconcile financial data in BlackLine and support S/4HANA Group Reporting* Ensure data integrity across SAP ECC/S/4, BW, and reporting systems* Act as a primary contact for SAP Finance issues and manage incidents via ServiceNow* Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with IT to implement system fixes and enhancements* Drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance, and contribute to finance transformation initiatives***This role requires rotational night shift coverage during month-end close periods (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, approximately one day per month).*****Who you are:**Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:* Legally authorized to work in Canada* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.* Minimum 8 years of SAP Finance experience, preferably within the energy or oil and gas industry.* Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA, specifically within FI, CO, and PS modules.* Working knowledge of SAP BW/BOBJ reporting, BPC, and Group Reporting.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex close and reporting issues within tight timelines.* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a customer-focused approach.* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.* Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams.**Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT June 2nd,
