Social Content Creator

We are looking for a creative, social-first content creator who can help bridge traditional reporting with digital storytelling to produce engaging, verified content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram and . Your role is to capture authentic moments and turn them into engaging short-form content that helps grow Atlantic Business Magazine’s social presence and audience engagement.

Founded in 1989, Atlantic Business Magazine is the longest publishing and most award-winning regional business magazine in Atlantic Canada. With each print edition, we take deep dives into topical issues. And we expand those discussions with digital offerings and in-person events. We're more than news - we deliver the backstory.

The Role

This is a full-time, 100% on-site position based in our St. John’s, NL office with periodic travel for specific events/assignments.

This role is focused on short-form video content, mobile-first/social-first execution, organic social engagement, fast-turnaround content creation, and authentic storytelling. You will work closely with the Atlantic Business Magazine team to create content that feels engaging, relatable, and platform-native while authentically representing our brand voice.

What You’ll Do

• Create and publish short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms
• Build the Atlantic Business community through direct interaction, using conversational, less formal tones to build trust
• Capture authentic behind-the-scenes and event content
• Work with the editorial team to produce and publish vodcast/podcast episodes
• Edit and post content quickly using tools such as PhotoShop, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar platforms
• Test trends, formats and content ideas to improve engagement and reach
• Maintain a consistent content posting cadence across social channels
• Turn longer-form content into short-form social clips
• Stay current with platform trends and creator best practices
• Collaborate with the editorial and sales teams to support audience engagement and brand awareness initiatives
• Periodically travel on assignment throughout Atlantic Canada

What You Bring

• 1–3 years of experience in journalistic vodcast/podcast content creation, social media, digital marketing, or a related field — or a strong portfolio of social content
• Experience creating long-form and short-form content for digital platforms
• Strong understanding of social media trends and platform behavior
• Ability to create high volumes of content quickly and independently
• Comfortable filming and editing content using mobile devices and lightweight equipment
• Experience with editing and design tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, Photoshop, or similar platforms is a MUST
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience growing or managing social media accounts
