Job descriptionPart-Time Nanny Needed — Kits/Point Grey Border Our current nanny is moving to part-time hours, so we are looking for an additional warm, reliable nanny to care for our 1-year-old daughter 2–3 days per week, from 9:00am–2:00pm. We are flexible on which days, and the position would ideally start as soon as reasonably possible. Mom works from home and will be upstairs in her home office most of the day, but we are very respectful of the nanny role. Dad is in and out and takes over when your shift ends. Our older child is in school or summer camps, so your primary focus will be our sweet, social toddler. The role: * 2–3 days/week, 9:00am–2:00pm * Flexible on days * $25/hr, paid bi-weekly * 2-week paid trial to make sure it’s a fit * Must be legally entitled to work in Canada * Criminal record and vulnerable sector checks required * Infant/child CPR required * References required Primary care: During your hours, you’ll be our daughter’s primary caregiver. This includes preparing her lunch, playing with her, reading, visiting the library, parks, drop-in play gyms, and West Side Family Place, and putting her down for her daily nap. We’re also looking for someone who is comfortable taking the stroller on the bus for nearby outings. Mom is upstairs working most of the day and may pop in occasionally, but we want you to feel trusted, comfortable, and respected, not micromanaged. Our home: * Located at 11th & Alma, on the Kits/Point Grey border * Two floors with a large open kitchen/living/dining area * Rooftop deck with mountain views * Tidy home, with cleaners every other week * Light housekeeping only: “good roommate rules” — tidy after yourself and, if we’re behind, maybe help with toys or folding some laundry. The focus is childcare and development, not cleaning. * Please bring your own lunch, but help yourself to coffee, tea, and snacks * Near St. James Community Square, West Side Family Place, parks, and a 20-minute walk to the beach * Easy transit: right on the 99 B-Line * Easy, plentiful, free street parking if you drive Why this might be a good fit: * Steady, predictable daytime hours * No evenings or weekends * A warm family that values and respects your role * A sweet, social toddler who loves music, play, books, and walks * Great location with transit, parking, and neighbourhood perks * Could work well for an ECE student, a parent with school-age kids, or someone looking for long-term part-time hours and balance We’re kind and respectful, and we want this to be a happy, steady role that fits into your life as much as it supports ours. Please send your resume, references, and availability if this sounds like a good match.
