Job description

Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance is a legacy John Hancock product that was sold from 1987 through 2016. Currently, there are approximately 800,000 policies in-force and just under 40,000 active claims. Claim growth is expected to continue for many years to come.

The LTC Fraud Waste and Abuse Team is responsible for preventing, detecting, evaluating, investigating, and remediating cases of fraud against these policies. We are seeking an experienced Analyst to help define and identify currently undiscovered opportunities for improved prevention, detection and remediation of this fraud.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform deep-dive evaluations of at-risk cases, queries and concepts.
  • Manage initial customer communications as part of case evaluation.
  • Work to identify and prioritize opportunities for pilot programs aimed at improving savings results; support case triage and review.
  • Investigate, support and participate in the development of efficiency opportunities and risk reduction processes and policies.
  • Continuously monitor and identify investigative trends through LEAF, Archer and Advanced Analytics; assess fraud prevention criteria semi-annually and make recommendations to improve results.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Inforce Management, LTC Operations and the extended Fraud team for shared goals and outcomes.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and high‑risk work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Track and report success measures and key results.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years progressive business analysis and/or project management experience supporting significant business initiatives.
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to build team consensus by utilizing strong conflict management skills.
  • Able to translate issues and problems into effective business solutions.
  • Ability to effectively apply project management and business cases methodologies and ensure the necessary technical skills are included with the project team and utilized appropriately.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and articulate clear, compelling business cases when presenting information.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with key stakeholders and business management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Familiarity in LTC Insurance and / or insurance fraud preferred.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.

The role being advertised is an existing vacancy.
