YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE Reporting to the Short Range Planning Engineer, the New or Recent Graduate Mine Engineer will join our Mining team at Detour Lake. This role is specifically designed to develop the successful candidate into a licensed Professional Engineer, supporting a long‑term career at Agnico Eagle. You will support operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement while learning and growing in a dynamic mining environment.
Assist with daily mine engineering tasks, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
Support mine planning, design, and scheduling activities
Collaborate with operations, geology, and maintenance teams to optimize mine performance
Participate in safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety and responsibility
Contribute to environmental stewardship and compliance efforts
Engage in continuous improvement projects and support technology adoption
Learn to use mine engineering software and tools
Take part in training and development opportunities to build your technical and leadership skills
Benefit from mentorship and guidance to progress towards professional engineering licensure
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field (graduated within the last 2 years or soon to graduate)
Must be based in Northern Ontario
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Effective communicator and team player
Eager to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast‑paced environment
Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and Agnico Eagle’s values
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with mine planning software is an asset
Willingness to work on a rotational schedule at a remote mine site
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI

Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine Northern Ontario
Compensation Statement In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
Minimum Salary: $77,000 CAD
Maximum Salary: $103,000 CAD
