Job description
Description & Requirements Who we are lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.

About this Team The enterprise device management team manages the full life cycle of enterprise devices in our retail, distribution centre and office environments. This includes OS and application life cycle management, device health and security compliance and optimizing the user experience. Our mission is to ensure all end user devices and end points are managed, and we are on a journey to consolidate management onto a few enterprise platforms and onboard additional device types. We are also starting the initiatives to offer Desktop-as-a-Service and introducing a DevOps "Infrastructure as Code" approach. For device management, we leverage Microsoft Intune for Windows devices, and JAMF for Apple devices, Papercut for printers and DaaS virtual devices, managing over 30,000 mobile and laptop devices.

In addition to your primary team, project, or portfolio you will be supported by a diverse Architecture Community of Practice, which provides learning and governance resources to all architects and will help you build a strong and robust practice of leadership grounded in technical proficiency, innovative thinking and empathy.

Core Responsibilities As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will define platform architecture and drive technical direction for internal developer platforms and core infrastructure across the organization. You will architect company-wide Kubernetes and container orchestration strategies, design CI/CD and delivery systems at scale, and establish self-service platform capabilities that enable hundreds of engineers to deploy and operate services independently. You will establish observability platform architecture and comprehensive testing approaches including disaster recovery and chaos engineering programs, lead resolution of complex platform incidents, and drive platform reliability and performance at scale. You will make platform architecture decisions affecting multiple teams, influence organizational infrastructure investments, and mentor senior engineers on platform engineering excellence.

Drive complex, multi-team initiatives with minimal supervision, making key technical decisions independently while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities

Establish CI/CD , Infrastructre as Code and delivery tooling strategies including standardized workflows, artifact management approaches, and deployment patterns

Design enterprise-scale self-service platform capabilities enabling hundreds of engineers to provision infrastructure and deploy services independently with appropriate guardrails

Establish observability platform architecture and standards for the organization including logging infrastructure, metrics collection frameworks, distributed tracing, alerting platforms, and operational dashboards

Establish testing and validation approaches including infrastructure testing frameworks, disaster recovery programs, chaos engineering practices, and resilience testing across all platforms

Lead resolution of complex platform incidents requiring deep technical expertise, cross-functional coordination, and architectural changes

Design cloud infrastructure strategies balancing multi-cloud considerations, cost optimization, security requirements, and engineering productivity

Drive platform reliability and performance improvements at scale through systematic analysis, infrastructure optimization, and engineering practices

Mentor senior platform engineers on infrastructure architecture, system design, and technical leadership

Establish domain platform engineering best practices and operational standards

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred

9-12 years of experience defining platform strategy, establishing technical standards, and driving organization-wide infrastructure decisions, or equivalent. A majority of this experience should come from working in and around cloud-based services and device management tools (Intune, JAMF, MS Defender, Active Directory and/or EntraId, PKI infrastructure). Experience with non end-user device management (IoT, AVD, cameras, distribution centre equipment, etc) would be highly desirable.

Relevant industry experience is preferred, with prior experience developing solutions for retail or eCommerce businesses.

Deep experience and architectural understanding using compute, networking, storage, and database components in one of the major cloud platforms: Amazon AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure (preferred), GCP or Alibaba Cloud

Able to design for specific security threat models and able to describe basic and advanced security and compliance aspects of device management
