What You Would Do in This Role The Junior Buyer is responsible for performing procurement activities to ensure the timely purchase of materials and equipment to meet project requirements.

Duties include: Working within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to client requirements and proper procurement practices Updating purchasing and expediting milestone dates in the procurement software Preparing, issuing and evaluating standard procurement documents including bid lists, request for quotation and commercial bid evaluations Purchasing electrical, instrumentation and piping commodity materials and equipment Executing appropriate bidding strategies Creating and issuing purchase orders for materials Assisting in the negotiation of progress payments Developing and managing vendor/contractor relationships Assisting with expediting, as required Performing other duties as requested Closing purchase orders Communicating with suppliers to resolve issues affecting a purchase order Attending status meetings with suppliers Reviewing material and service invoices for accuracy Coordinating transportation and logistics, as required Requirements Post-secondary certification or equivalent Recent graduates will be considered Open to Canadian residents only Why People Like Working with Us Working with Vista is a chance to contribute to the type of challenging municipal and industrial projects that the world requires.
