About this Position As a Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer you will be working with multi-disciplinary project teams to support our clients in Canada and around the world. The ideal candidate will be based in our North Bay, Ontario office, but the option to be based out of our Vancouver, BC office is also available.
Key Responsibilities
Lead or make significant contributions to design studies and engineering support for projects and operating mines.
Rock mass classification and the selection of geomechanical domains.
Stability assessments and analyses for slopes and/or underground openings.
Design performance monitoring.
Project management.
Contribute to the development of our staff, as well as new tools and processes.
Travel both domestically and internationally to meet the needs of our clients.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in geology, mining, or civil engineering. A graduate degree in rock mechanics is considered an asset.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or other Canadian province or territory.
A strong technical design background in geotechnical analyses and project management experience.
Minimum of 10 years of applicable engineering experience, specifically related to mining and/or civil rock mechanics projects.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience working at operating mines will be considered an asset. Preference will be given to individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to strong technical competence.
Pay and Benefits The estimated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 CAD. Variations in salary offered will be dependent on relevant knowledge, experience, and skill level.
