The Resource and Employment Facilitator is responsible for facilitating employment related workshops, completing Better Jobs Ontario (BJO)application packages and maintaining and overseeing the Resource Centre.
The Resource and Employment Facilitator will work as part of the team, contributing to quality service delivery and achievement of program goals while maintaining an effective working relationship with the community in accordance with the Mission and Policies of YWCA Toronto.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts Career Decision Making/Career Exploration workshops for assessment of interests and aptitudes, personality, work preference, skills and values, career planning, career change, goal setting, labour market information, research on occupations and training, etc.
Facilitates Resume, Interview, LinkedIn and other employment related workshops monthly Responsible for assessing each applicant against the BJO eligibility and suitability requirements.
This includes responsibility for completing the BJO Eligibility and Suitability Assessment Template Provides information on job search strategies, career planning, labour market trends and provides guidance to clients on accessing reference materials in the Resource Centre Critiques, edits, proofreads and advises on résumés, cover letters and other job search tools for clients Uses directories and other resources to teach clients how to research companies and job postings, works collaboratively with team members to develop new appropriate material for workshops Assists clients with the use of software including Career Cruising, online Scott’s Directory, SHL skills tests and other similar technological supports Works with other community partners to organize and arrange for specialized workshops and information sessions as well as to provide additional supports and resources to clients Oversees the resource & information area and assists clients on the computer QUALIFICATIONS In-depth knowledge of information processing normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Education, Social Science, Employment Counseling, Human Resources or another related discipline (Cases for Equivalency will be considered) ; 3-5 years directly related experience Strong knowledge of BJO program and it’s requirements Demonstrated knowledge of the local labour market as well as the local community resources Group Facilitation and Life Skills Training is required Knowledge of vocational evaluation, career exploration, and career planning tool Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; strong written and verbal communication skills Strong digital literacy, including MS Office suite Experience in employment counselling or related field will be considered an asset WHAT WE OFFER: Comprehensive Medical, Vision, and Dental Coverage Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Benefit Multi-Sector Pension Plan: Employer’s contribution of 5.75% and Employee Contribution of 3.25% Time off: Starts with 20 Vacation Days, 1.5 Days Per Month Sick Leave, 12 Paid Holidays, Health Promotional Days and 4 Float Days Other Benefits: Child Care Benefits, Maternity/Parental Leave Supplementary Employment Benefits, Educational/Sabbatical Leave, and Financial Assistance for Professional Development Please note: A vulnerable sector police reference check is required by the successful candidate prior to hiring.
