Job description
Rentco Equipment Ltd. is a locally owned company with over 60 years of experience serving the Peace Country. Known for our reliable equipment and exceptional service, we support oilfield, construction, and homeowner clients across the region. Our reputation was built on having long-term staff who provide excellent customer service, having a well-stocked inventory of parts, sales, and rental equipment, and by hiring those who are friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and who enjoy working as part of a team.

We are currently looking to hire a Journeyman Outdoor Power Equipment Technician or Motorcycle Mechanic to our work at our Grande Prairie Head Office shop.

As the Outdoor Power Equipment Technician or Motorcycle Mechanic, you are responsible for:
  • Completing small engine work orders accurately and timely
  • Completing equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs
  • Performing service work as required (cleaning, lubricating, etc.)
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Monitoring parts usage and report on any material issues
  • Assisting with ordering replacement equipment, parts, and supplies
  • Documenting work performed in detailed, readable, and accurate manner per Rentco procedures
You have the following education, training, and skills:
  • Journeyman Outdoor Power Equipment Technician or Motorcycle Mechanic certification; 2nd year + apprenticeship, or equivalent previous experience
  • Class 5 drivers’ licence with a clean abstract and the ability to travel to off-site locations
  • Experience working on small tampers, generators, and water pumps, etc.
  • Ability to be flexible and to work well under pressure
  • Ability to lift objects over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions while wearing proper PPE
