The Lead, Post-Quantum Cryptography Readiness position will oversee the development and implementation of the department's enterprise-wide cryptographic modernization strategy in preparation for emerging quantum-capable cyber threats. This role is responsible for conducting a comprehensive cryptographic inventory and exposure assessment, identifying systems and technologies at risk, and establishing migration requirements aligned with Government of Canada standards and SPIN 2025-01 directives. The successful candidate will lead the development of a centralized cryptography governance practice to ensure consistent standards, compliance, and long-term resilience across departmental systems and services.
Working closely with enterprise architecture, cyber security, infrastructure, application, and operational teams, the role will support the transition toward quantum-resistant security controls while minimizing operational disruption. The ideal candidate brings expertise in enterprise cryptography, security architecture, risk management, and cyber security governance, with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into practical modernization strategies. This position plays a critical role in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and resilience of sensitive information and operational systems as global cryptographic standards evolve.
