Job Title: Reach Forklift OperatorJob Description

This role involves safely operating a reach forklift to move, locate, stack, and record materials within a warehouse and distribution center. You will spend approximately 90% of your time on the forklift, working in a fast-paced environment that requires strong attention to detail, consistent adherence to safety standards, and efficient material handling to support daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a reach forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse and distribution center.
• Handle materials throughout the facility, including loading, unloading, staging, and transporting products as directed.
• Maintain accurate records of materials moved, including inventory counts, locations, and movements within the distribution center.
• Support warehouse distribution activities such as picking, packing, and general labor tasks as needed.
• Use warehouse tools and equipment, such as RF scanners and stand-up equipment, to complete daily tasks when required.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced distribution environment while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Assist with inventory-related tasks, including organizing stock and maintaining orderly storage areas.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of warehouse activities.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of reach forklift experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Proven experience operating a reach forklift and reach truck safely and efficiently.
• Experience working in a distribution center (DC).
• Distribution warehouse experience with material handling responsibilities.
• Counterbalance forklift experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with picking and packing in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks in addition to forklift operation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• External forklift license or certification.
• Experience with inventory processes and stock organization.
• Experience with loading and production support in a warehouse environment.
• Stand-up forklift or stand-up equipment experience.
• Experience using RF scanners for picking, inventory, or tracking.
• Previous experience in packing and order fulfillment.
• Comfort working in a large distribution facility with multiple shifts.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large distribution facility that ramps up activity during the spring and continues through the end of the year. The warehouse is clean and organized, with a strong focus on safety and efficient material flow. Two primary shifts are available: First Shift from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and Second Shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You will spend most of your time operating a reach forklift and working around other material handling equipment, RF scanners, and standard warehouse tools in a busy, fast-paced setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Woodbridge, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.35 - $23.75/hr.
