Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOPS / Cloud Engineer to support enterprise cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, CI/CD pipeline development, release coordination, security compliance, and operational support initiatives within the Ontario Government environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, supporting, and optimizing hybrid cloud infrastructure environments across public cloud platforms, SaaS solutions, COTS products, and on-premises systems. This role requires strong expertise in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, containerization, DevOps practices, audit logging, security operations, and enterprise release management.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, Linux environments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, identity and access management, monitoring tools, and enterprise security compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize hybrid infrastructure environments across cloud and on-premises platforms.
- Build and support secure cloud environments for enterprise digital products and applications.
- Design, develop, administer, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting continuous development and deployment.
- Assess frameworks, platforms, and technology stacks to support cloud-based solution delivery.
- Monitor system performance, reliability, availability, and infrastructure capacity across cloud environments.
- Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
- Create, test, and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and protect systems from unauthorized access.
- Manage infrastructure and application releases across DevOps, platform, and business teams.
- Coordinate release schedules, maintenance windows, deployment activities, and rollback procedures.
- Facilitate release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and post-release validation activities.
- Maintain release calendars, deployment records, approvals, operational documentation, and audit artifacts.
- Support incident management, root cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, and forensic investigations.
- Implement centralized audit logging, monitoring, and compliance controls across cloud and on-premises systems.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, DevOps, and application teams to enforce operational standards and governance.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, release procedures, and operational controls.
- Mentor junior team members on DevOps practices, automation, operational discipline, and audit readiness.

Mobile Device Management
- Experience supporting mobile device management for cellular devices and tablets across multiple platforms and operating systems.
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting Government of Ontario enterprise environments.
- Experience with enterprise modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise governance, compliance frameworks, and audit readiness programs.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior DevOps and infrastructure resources.
- Strong understanding of operational resilience, disaster recovery, and enterprise monitoring strategies.
Additional Information
- Strong hands-on DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, security, and enterprise release management experience is mandatory for this role.
