Posting Details: Application Deadline: Thursday June 4, 2026 at 12:00pm (noon) Position Status: Full-Time Seasonal Contract Estimated Contract Length: June 22, 2026 - August 28, 2026 Current Vacancies: 1 vacancy Hourly Rate: $20.24 per hour (effective January 1, 2026) Hours per Week: 35 Position Location: Peterborough, Ontario Position Group: Non-Union, Seasonal Competition #: NUG-26-15 Job Description: Corporate Communications Student Assistant What you’ll do: The Corporate Communications Student Assistant role provides an opportunity to be part of a team that brings ideas to life, showcases the incredible work of various divisions, delivers top-notch customer service, and ramps up resident engagement. As a supporting player in our dynamic and fun-filled environment, you'll wear many hats.

Social Media: Craft compelling content to be featured across different social media platforms and the official website to promote County initiatives and projects.

Visitor Services: Assist with providing in-person, digital and online support to local businesses and residents seeking information on economic development, tourism, and more.

Customer Service: Ramp up resident engagement through working with the general public and assist internal departments with bringing their creative ideas to life.

Administration: Help execute the Corporate Communications strategy through report writing, developing communication concepts, sourcing materials, assisting with event planning, and more.

Help execute the Tourism Playbook (marketing strategy) through webpage updates, social media, visitor services etc.

In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

You have a valid Ontario G2 (or higher) driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and are comfortable operating a County-owned vehicle.
