We are currently hiring for a Scrum Master for our L&JS SoS EI team! As Scrum Master, you will facilitate Agile ceremonies including Stand‑ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospectives, and PI Planning for all DevSecOps Scrum teams. You will support and coach teams to foster collaboration, self‑organization, and continuous improvement.
Other Scrum Master tasks will include:
Act as a servant leader, helping to remove barriers, issues, and impediments that prevent team success.
Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a prioritized product backlog.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and clear communication of program success.
Identify and resolve conflicts, facilitate team communication, and improve overall team dynamics.
Track team progress, Sprint metrics, and provide reports to management to help optimize performance and efficiency.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practises, working agreements, and promoting Agile methodologies.
As a member of the DevOps team, the following additional responsibilities apply:
Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
Build and maintain Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Problem solve to understand the cause and effect in complex systems.
Review technical documentation, provide analysis.
Share knowledge and present ideas to colleagues.
Expand knowledge of latest technologies, products and market trends relevant to area of work.
Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
Qualifications
4+ years working in an Engineering Environment.
Experience working in Software or Firmware Development, or in DevOps is an asset.
Experience or relevant exposure with the following tools: GitLab, Ansible, Artifactory, Terraform.
Experience with development or scripting languages: Python, Powershell.
Experience working in a Scrum Master role and Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) is an asset.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum framework, and Agile best practises.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
A collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems‑Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
The hiring range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 CAD annual. Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:
