Job description
Cowan Group Ltd. seeks a skilled Legal Counsel to manage compliance, contracts, and corporate policies in a hybrid work environment. Bring your expertise in legal matters, risk management, and problem-solving.

This role reports directly to the President and focuses on general legal issues, corporate policy development, and risk management. You'll ensure adherence to regulations, oversee data security best practices, and manage insurance coverage. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills to simplify complex challenges and contribute to a client-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities: • Handle general legal matters and compliance • Develop corporate policies working with HR • Manage risk assessment and business continuity • Oversee insurance coverage matters and renewals • Conduct due diligence for M&A activities

Requirements: • Called to the Bar in Ontario • Minimum 5 years relevant legal work experience • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong drafting skills for agreements and contracts • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
