Job description
Join MacEwen Petroleum as a Tax Compliance Accountant, focusing on accurate tax reporting and balance sheet reconciliations. This vital role supports financial integrity and compliance across the company.

As a Tax Compliance Accountant, you will report directly to the Controller and utilize your 3-5 years of accounting experience to manage tax accounts and assist with monthly financial closings. Collaborating with various business units, you will optimize tax processes while ensuring robust compliance with Canadian tax laws.

Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and document tax returns accurately • Ensure balances reflect the Company's tax position • Prepare for tax audits by gathering vital documentation • Update and maintain tax compliance licenses • Monitor tax payments and assist with cash forecasts

Requirements: • Accounting diploma or equivalent • 3-5+ years of relevant experience • Understanding of tax laws and GAAP is essential • Familiarity with SQL queries and BI tools • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills
