About the Opportunity

A fast-growing Toronto-based digital consulting and technology firm is expanding its business development function and is seeking a Director of Growth & New Business to drive enterprise and mid-market revenue growth.

This is a senior, client-facing growth role focused on building strategic relationships, originating new business, and shaping how the firm positions and sells its digital and technology services in the market.

You will work closely with leadership to define go-to-market strategy while actively owning business development and key client relationships.


Role Overview

This is a hands-on growth leadership role combining enterprise business development, strategic relationship building, and consultative solution selling.

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving new business across target industries
  • Leveraging existing relationships and building new ones
  • Owning the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
  • Collaborating with leadership on growth strategy and market positioning
  • Representing the firm in the market as a senior commercial leader

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in relationship-led, consultative sales environments and is motivated by both revenue generation and business building.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Originate and develop new business opportunities through your professional network and market activity
  • Own end-to-end sales cycles, including discovery, solution shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and close
  • Develop tailored solutions across digital consulting services, including UX/UI, web and mobile development, technology strategy, data, and accessibility services
  • Build and manage a pipeline across nonprofit, pharma, startup, and mid-market enterprise clients


Strategic Growth & Market Presence
  • Collaborate with leadership on go-to-market strategy, positioning, and growth priorities
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings
  • Provide structured market feedback to inform service evolution and messaging
  • Contribute to refining the firm’s sales and growth approach as it scales


Client Relationship Leadership
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior decision-makers
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to clients throughout the sales process
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales to delivery teams to support successful project execution


Leadership & Growth Trajectory
  • Play a foundational role in shaping the growth function as the company scales
  • Contribute to building repeatable sales processes and best practices
  • Opportunity to grow into a broader commercial leadership role over time


What You Bring
  • Proven success in B2B business development or consultative sales within digital services, consulting, or technology
  • Strong network of relationships you can activate in a new role
  • Experience selling services such as:
  • UX/UI and digital experience design
  • Web and mobile application development
  • Technology or digital transformation consulting
  • Data, personalization, or accessibility (AODA/WCAG) services
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, consultative sales cycles
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Comfortable representing the business in client-facing and industry settings


Ideal Background
  • Experience in a digital agency, consulting firm, or technology services organization
  • Track record of bringing in and growing key client accounts
  • Exposure to multi-stakeholder enterprise or mid-market deals
  • Experience in relationship-led or network-driven business development roles
