Hays is partnered with an award-winning Calgary-based land developer and residential home builder. They have been creating innovative and successfulmunities across the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area for almost 30 years. At the present time they are positioned for their next growth phase with a multi-year land base, strong financial resources, and an exceptional management team, with that they are looking to hire a technically minded Architectural Technologist to join their Design team.
Your new role
In your role, you will be focusing on working with the City of Calgary on Development Permits and tracking the progress of the DP. Your duties and responsibilities will be; working closely with the City of Calgary to manage Development Permit applications and ensurepliance with land use bylaws and building codes, tracking the progress of Development Permits and ensuring deadlines are met (with support of the Design Admin), preparing and submittingplete sets of working drawings for Development and Building permits. You will conduct site visits and liaising with contractors and other stakeholders as required and assist with project management and team coordination as required.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of as a Technologist and a strong understanding of the local building codes for 3&4 plex buildings and current land use bylaws for Calgary. You must have a solid understanding of the residential construction processes, building materials, permit processes, etc. Prior wood-framing production drafting experience in the Canadian Residential Industry is considered a strong asset. You will have an Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent. You must have proficiency in AutoCAD. The successful candidate with have a prior experience working with the City on development permits and be able to produce a full set of working drawings for Development and Building permits.
