Job description
Requirements:
  • Language: English (spoken and written) and French is an asset.
  • Education: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Experience: 5 – 7 years experience in IT with at least 3 in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding in change management, cybersecurity, and audit practices.
  • Strong leadership skills and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software, IT service management tools, and productivity suites.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Management:
  • Supervise direct reports, providing guidance and support for daily operations.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, ensuring the team meets performance goals.
IT Systems & Applications Management:
  • Manage critical production systems, including PI, Proficy, Elixir to ensure they are functioning optimally.
  • Oversee the mill’s domain, applications, and all related IT systems to ensure proper integration and continuous availability.
  • Administer licenses for various software and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate with and support 3rd party groups aligned with business functions such as SAP and Empath.
Cloud & Network Administration:
  • Administer and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability and cost optimization of cloud resources.
  • Oversee subscriptions to various IT services and tools used by the mill to ensure proper utilization and cost control.
  • Manage virtual machine (VM) environments, ensuring resource allocation and system performance align with operational needs.
  • Assist and monitor the mill’s network infrastructure to ensure security, stability, and performance.
Process Control Systems & Development:
  • Oversee the implementation and management of the mill’s process control systems, such as PI and Proficy, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with production teams to develop and refine custom solutions and improvements to control systems.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and automation in manufacturing processes, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
Support & Maintenance:
  • Provide ongoing support for the IT environment, troubleshooting technical issues and working with external vendors as necessary.
  • Conduct system upgrades, patching, and regular maintenance to keep systems up to date and secure.
Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure the network and systems are protected against cyber threats by implementing security measures, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain regular backups of critical systems and data to ensure business continuity in the event of an outage or disaster.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Liaise with senior management and other departments to identify IT needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide regular reports on system performance, incident resolution, and project progress to leadership.
Project Planning & Implementation:
  • Lead and manage IT-related projects, including planning, execution, and delivery. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project goals, and establish timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues as they arise, and provide updates to leadership.
  • Ensure projects are aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives and business priorities.
Audit and SOX Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls by following relevant auditing and reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and ensure that controls are properly implemented and adhered to.
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards, particularly in relation to data security and IT governance.
Budget Management:
  • Maintain and manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring that expenditures align with the organization’s financial goals.
  • Review and forecast IT-related costs, making recommendations for cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
  • Collaborate with senior management to prepare budget proposals for IT projects and services, ensuring that the budget meets business needs while remaining cost-effective.
Help Desk Ticketing & Incident Management:
  • Oversee the help desk ticketing system, ensuring that all IT-related support requests are logged, prioritized, and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage and monitor ticketing workflows to ensure incidents and service requests are handled according to established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide oversight and continuous improvement of the ticketing process, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction across all internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation and follow-up on recurring issues to facilitate long-term solutions and system improvements.
