Job description
Salary The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84 per hour to $41.35 per hour.
Role Overview Licensed Practical Nurse on the Arthritis team at G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre in Vancouver, BC. Practices within the client- and family‑centred care model and in accordance with BCCNM standards. Works independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, performing full scope of practical nursing functions for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty. Also supports the Registered Nurse for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where complex care requires advanced knowledge beyond the scope of LPNs.
Responsibilities Practices within the context of client and family centred care, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families.
Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team; performs whole scope of practical nursing functions for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area; supports RN for clients with unpredictable outcomes or higher complexity; maintains and advances clinical competence.
Education & Experience
Graduation from a recognised program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organise work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Hours and Schedule Hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
Vaccination / Health Requirement All health care workers in publicly‑funded facilities are required to report past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. This information is collected as part of the onboarding process, and missing vaccines may be offered.
