Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical design expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and detail‑oriented teammates. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable transport by contributing to the design and development of interior components and sub‑assemblies for our trains. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams across the business (including engineers, external subcontractors, and other CAD designers), ensure the consistency of digital mock‑ups, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of creating designs and drawings for train interiors using Catia V5 and DMA, but also optimise designs to meet cost and quality targets.
Responsibilities
Creating and refining designs for interior train parts in the digital mock‑up, considering factors such as weight, acoustics, eco‑design, aerodynamics, and aeraulics
Deploying and applying CDS Interior development procedures, catalogues, and standard solutions
Optimising part designs to meet recurring and non‑recurring cost targets while adhering to committed timelines
Collaborating with external engineering subcontractors and other Interiors CDS CAD designers
Ensuring digital mock‑up consistency, including checking for interferences, equipment localisation, volumes, and interfaces
Preparing design review elements with the support of the Lead Engineer
Performing stack‑up analysis and tolerance calculations
Creating and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials for your assigned scopes
Qualifications
A college degree in mechanical design or qualification as a Mechanical Professional Engineer
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in designing mechanical parts, preferably in railway, automotive, or bus industries
Proficiency in CATIA V5
Knowledge of DMA
Fluency in both French and English
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team‑oriented environment
