The Climate Action Consultant is responsible for developing and delivering programs focused on advancing energy efficiency and electrification in low‑rise residential and small commercial buildings. This position plays a key role in helping customers understand their energy options and take practical action towards better efficiency and lower emissions. The Consultant provides direct support to customers through existing programs, like the Energy Coaching program, and by responding to inbound customer requests. The incumbent also leads program development and delivery, including stakeholder engagement, process development, procurement support, agreement development, and program reporting, with a focus on driving customer uptake, participation, and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities
Acts as an energy coach, providing 1:1 guidance to residential customers on home energy efficiency and electrification opportunities with a focus on enabling action
Serves as a primary point of contact for residential and small commercial customers, providing timely, accurate support on energy efficiency and electrification opportunities
Leads the development and implementation of new projects and programs, including tracking milestones, deliverables, budgets, and program reporting
Applies customer insights and behavioral principles to improve program accessibility, participation, and customer experience
Assists with procurement and partnership development, including contributing to the drafting of agreements and contracts
Supports the planning and delivery of outreach campaigns, workshops, and public events
Prepares memos, reports, and other materials for internal and external audiences
Develops and delivers clear, engaging presentations to support customer education, stakeholder engagement, and internal communication
Provides departmental support related to financial forecasting and monitoring of project expenditures
Conducts research and keeps current with best practices, legislation changes, new developments, and trends in order to strengthen the organization’s climate action initiatives
Requirements
University degree in business, science, or a technical field
P. Eng, CEM, CET or Energy Advisor designations strongly preferred
Seven (7) years of professional experience in client service, climate action or conservation programs
Excellent customer service, account management, and relationship management skills, with experience in customer facing roles
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build effective relationships internally and externally; demonstrated responsive professional attitude
Experience designing and implementing customer programs with a focus on driving participation and measurable impact
Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment; ability to work well with all levels of management, staff and external contacts
Ability to manage competing priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong influence and negotiation skills; ability to persuade or influence others to adopt or accept a point of view or take a course of action
Proven ability to manage and achieve targets and KPIs
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including strong presentation skills
Solid understanding of energy efficiency and electrification technologies, opportunities and programs in residential and small commercial buildings
Knowledge of the Save On Energy – Residential and Small Commercial programs (ex. Home Saving Renovation Program, Small Business Program, etc.) is an asset
Understanding of business development and procurement processes
Advanced computer skills and MS‑office applications especially MS Excel
Ability to use data to monitor performance, generate insights, and inform decisions. Familiarity with data tools or analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI) considered an asset
Experience engaging with customers through community events and trade shows considered an asset
Class “G” driver’s license

Hybrid Work Eligibility This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
