Our company offers a diverse range of project opportunities and a culture of creativity and innovation. The position involves a combination of field and office work, with occasional travel and remote work.

PRI's Environmental Group has extensive experience across industrial sectors, including forestry, renewable energy, municipal, land development, oil and gas, transportation, and mining. We provide environmental services to provincial government agencies including the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit, BC Hydro, Fortis BC, and BC Ministry of Forests; and to municipalities, First Nation communities, architects, developers, and contracting firms throughout British Columbia.

Responsibilities

Design, coordinate, and lead field studies related to terrestrial ecosystems and wildlife, including species‑at‑risk surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity monitoring.

Analyze and interpret ecological data to support environmental assessments, impact studies, and mitigation planning.

Prepare high‑quality technical reports and regulatory submissions in compliance with provincial and federal environmental legislation.

Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders to support project approvals and build strong working relationships.

Lead and support multi‑disciplinary project teams and manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control/monitoring, billing oversight and execution.

Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development and proposal writing.

Collaborate with team members across the company and externally in completing deliverables.

Complete required corporate operation and administrative activities as required, in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor or graduate degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related field.

Professional Biologist designation (R.P.Bio or P.Biol) and in good standing with the B.C. College of Applied Biologists.

Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including fieldwork and consulting experience.

Expertise in terrestrial ecology and wildlife biology, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.

Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Adaptability to varying types and sizes of projects.

Experience writing successful proposals, work plans and cost estimates.

Experience managing project tasks, budgets, and schedules to provide deliverables to clients.

Ability to prepare high quality reports in compliance with provincial and federal environmental legislation.

Experience with study design, field assessment, statistical analysis and data interpretation.

Experience with environmental assessments, permitting and mitigation planning.

Understanding of applicable codes and standards that apply to our work.

Posses strong communication skills, including verbal and technical writing, analysis, presentation, and interpersonal communication.

The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines, and have exceptional organization and time management skills.

A safety‑oriented attitude.

Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) and access to a vehicle. Willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed.
