Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of clients, building new and manipulating existing financial models
Lead M&A and financing transaction structuring and execution, coordinating due diligence, preparing and reviewing analysis, and presenting recommendations to clients and colleagues
Generate pitch ideas, conduct market and financial research, and lead the development of analysis and presentations
Monitor regulatory and sector themes to identify potential changes to clients’ businesses
Provide secondary coverage for key Mining & Metals clients
Evaluate capital structure alternatives and provide recommendations based on underlying business characteristics
Attend and participate in in‑person meetings with clients and prospective clients, site visits, diligence, and drafting sessions
Train, mentor, and supervise analysts and associates on day‑to‑day deliverables
Collaborate across corporate and investment banking coverage and product groups to deliver holistic financing solutions
Required Qualifications
5‑7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, preferably focused on mining & metals
University degree, preferably in Finance, Engineering, or Geology
Strong desire to learn, team‑oriented mindset, and clearly defined interest in investment banking and financial markets
Strong computer skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, data visualization, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines while maintaining careful attention to detail
Flexibility in schedule to meet client deadlines
Leadership skill set and desire to make meaningful contributions in a fast‑paced, team environment
Prior work experience in or covering the Mining & Metals sector; understanding of Mining & Metals industry concepts; CFA, CPA, P.Eng, or other relevant professional designations are considered an asset but not required
Compensation and Benefits Salary range is $135,000 – $165,000 based on experience, skills, and business needs. The position may be eligible for a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
