Job description
Hello! We are a welcoming single-parent family looking for a caring, responsible, and motivated nanny/au pair to join our home and become a positive part of our lives long term. Our family includes one sweet 9-year-old daughter named Grace. She is in Grade 4, has many friends, loves animals (especially anything fuzzy and cute), and enjoys imaginative play, stories, and activities. Grace has a gentle and caring personality, a big heart, and also a very silly side. She loves sharing stories, talking about her day, and keeping life fun and interesting. As a working parent, I primarily work from home but travel to the U.S. for work at times. I’m looking for someone dependable who can provide consistency and support with daily routines and occasional overnight availability when needed, once a trusting and comfortable relationship has been built. The primary responsibilities would include: • school drop-off and pick-up • driving to extracurricular activities and appointments • spending quality time with Grace and creating a fun, positive environment • preparing school lunches and occasional simple meals or meal prep • Grace’s laundry • light housekeeping and helping keep shared spaces tidy Grace attends a private school approximately 20 minutes from our home, so a confident and safe driver with several years of driving experience is very important. Experience driving an electric vehicle would be a bonus. If you have your own vehicle or would consider bringing/purchasing one, we would be happy to discuss options. We are hoping to find someone who is: • kind, caring, and emotionally mature • reliable and responsible • organized and proactive • confident driving children • comfortable becoming a supportive part of a family routine • a good communicator who values honesty and openness We are ideally looking for a minimum 6-month commitment or longer. The position may be live-out or live-in for the right fit. A fully furnished private suite with a separate bathroom, laundry, Wi-Fi, and privacy is available if a live-in arrangement is preferred. We live in a beautiful area of British Columbia close to lakes, beaches, hiking, and outdoor activities. Finding the right fit matters to us. We want someone who feels safe, comfortable, and valued in our home, and we believe open communication is an important part of creating a positive experience for everyone.
