HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR (1 Contract Full-Time Position, up to 16 months) Reporting to: Manager of Human Resources Department: Human Resources Classification: Full Time Contract; Non- Union Salary Range: $88,058 - $104,878 Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m.

Purpose of Position: Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of recruitment, onboarding, and HR orientation for the Corporation of the City of Woodstock.

This non-union position provides operational HR support in the areas of compensation and job evaluation, performance and attendance management, employee and labour relations, and the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.

The HR Coordinator provides timely, consistent, and customer-focused service, guidance, and administrative support on employment-related matters, applying sound judgment and discretion within established policies, collective agreements, legislative requirements, and delegated authority.

The role serves as a primary resource to employees and management on HR processes and practices, supports operational needs across departments, and contributes to a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

  • Responsibilities: The HR Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and advisory support across a broad range of human resources functions.

The role is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential employee records; preparing sensitive correspondence and reports; supporting HRIS administration, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination; and generating HR metrics and documentation related to employee transactions.

The position coordinates full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for front-line roles, including applicant screening support, interview coordination, background checks, offer administration, onboarding documentation, and exit processes.

The role also supports the maintenance of job descriptions and organizational charts, conducts exit interviews and prepares related workforce statistics.

In the area of compensation and benefits, the HR Coordinator administers benefit enrolments and status changes, completes monthly benefits reconciliation, supports employee claims and inquiries, provides guidance on applicable employment legislation, and assists with job evaluation processes.

The role also contributes to broader people management initiatives by supporting workplace investigations, employee status changes, claims administration, leave-related employee support, employment documentation, and training and development coordination.

In partnership with HR leadership, the position helps promote fair, consistent, and inclusive HR practices and contributes to the ongoing development of HR programs and employee experience initiatives.

In labour relations, the HR Coordinator supports collective bargaining preparation and administration by gathering and summarizing research, organizing supporting documentation, drafting proposals and related materials, assisting with collective agreement interpretation, and preparing labour relations reports such as seniority, attendance, and overtime tracking.

Qualifications: Essential: University degree or college diploma in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.

Sound knowledge of applicable human resources legislation, regulations, and best practices, including, but not limited to, the Employment Standards Act, 2000 , Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) requirements, the Occupational Health and Safety Act , labour relations legislation, and human rights legislation.

Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible human resources experience.

Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment.

Demonstrated experience in benefits and pension administration.

Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.

Preferred: CHRP designation or working towards.

Preference will be given to candidates that have municipal experience and/or supporting the bargaining process Working Conditions: This is an in-office position of 35 hours weekly; hours of work are governed by the time required to complete tasks.

Work is subject to constant interruption and occasional unpleasant interactions due to enquiries from employees and the public.

Requires long periods of seated work and may be required to lift up to 25lbs.

May be requested to work additional hours to attend meetings or for special events.
