Position Summary
The Licensed Millwright Journeyman is responsible for providing corrective and preventative maintenance, installation of equipment and specialized support to other licensed trades within the Facilities Management Department. We are currently seeking individuals in the certified trade of Millwright.
Qualifications
• Graduate of grade 12 is required.
• Current certification from the Ontario College of Trades as a Journeyman (433A Industrial Millwright Mechanic).
• A minimum of three (3) years working experience as a licensed journeyman required.
• Experience in a hospital environment is an asset.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the provincial codes, ie, CSA, ESA,TSSA,
• Demonstrated maturity, self-confidence, reliability, and dependability
• Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions with and without supervision.
• Demonstrated written and verbal ability to communicate in English with staff, contractors, and others.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and operational maintenance manuals.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, organize, and complete work in a timely manner.
• Documents and records readings from equipment in the appropriate log book or data bank
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to work rapidly under emergency situations.
• Demonstrated ability to direct suggestions, criticism, and questions to appropriate person.
• Demonstrated ability to keep precise records within CMMS (computerized maintenance management software).
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend a wide range of technical subjects and coordinate details.
