Job descriptionThe Supply Chain Planner plays a pivotal role in balancing demand, supply, and production capacity to ensure optimal product availability, service excellence and cost efficiency. This position is responsible for creating and executing optimized daily production plans, managing short‑term demand/supply alignment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Work shift: Sunday to Thursday, with Friday availability required once per month.
Develop and update daily bake plans cost‑effectively and sustainably, ensuring schedules are optimized to meet deadlines and customer demand.
Run DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning) and create Transfer Orders (TOs) and deliveries for outbound product movement.
Ensure planning tools are accurately maintained for new products, discontinuations, and network changes.
Monitor plant performance by engaging with production teams, identifying potential risks, and adjusting plans as required.
Initiate and manage purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and other supplies based on production schedules and inventory levels.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, negotiate terms and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Conduct regular inventory checks to identify material needs and prevent stock‑outs or overstock situations.
Plan and manage material requirements to support production schedules and meet customer demand.
Execute MRP runs and analyze system outputs to generate purchase and production orders.
Monitor inventory levels and adjust plans to prevent stock‑outs or excess inventory.
Collaborate with procurement, production and supply planning teams to ensure timely material availability.
Maintain master data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems, including lead times, safety stock and lot sizes.
Identify and resolve material shortages proactively, escalating issues as needed.
Analyze demand and supply variances and recommend corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize planning processes and system utilization.
Track and report on key supply‑chain KPIs, including service levels, waste reduction and inventory optimization.
Identify and mitigate risks to supply, proactively adjusting plans to minimize customer impact.
Participate in cost‑reduction and efficiency initiatives, such as SKU rationalization and waste reduction programs.
Strengthen critical thinking, cross‑functional influence, and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
Contribute to supply‑chain improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and best‑in‑class practices.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
APICS CPIM/CSCP certification (or working toward) is an asset.
3‑5 years of experience in manufacturing planning, supply chain or related function.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience in planning systems (Oracle, SAP or similar).
Proficiency with MS Excel; experience with Oracle, WMS, Power BI/Tableau/SQL is an asset.
Understanding of MRP/MPS/DRP concepts and best practices.
Excellent organizational, prioritization and communication skills, with the ability to influence and work cross‑functionally.
High level of integrity, energy and self‑motivation.
Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies is an asset.
Demonstrated professional presentation skills, including strong written and oral communication, exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
Strong customer focus and conflict management skills.
Solid change management and influencing skills.
Adaptability to an ever‑changing and fast‑paced environment.
Proven ability to maintain costs and service levels at or below budget expectations.
The annual salary range for applicants is: $65,000 – $75,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
