Job descriptionPosition Summary NAC is seeking a full‑time Electrical Project Manager with experience in high voltage installation for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects in the Greater Toronto Area. The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overall health, wealth & safety of the project, leading project delivery and maintaining client relationships.
Responsibilities
Create and choose a project team based on strengths.
Assist with pricing extra work and tracking changes.
Generate and review RFIs.
Oversee equipment control log.
Review O&M documents.
Manage owner communications, training plan, schedules, and sign‑off documentation.
Ensure quality control program meets project requirements.
Review estimates and identify margin improvement opportunities.
Attend bi‑weekly meetings with Project and Trade Superintendents and Forepersons.
Create goals and track each team member’s performance.
Lead project close‑out, including substantial completion, total completion and warranty call systems.
Document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Recommend scope changes to drive success and increase profits.
Oversee project team work program and monitor coordinators, HSE officers and supervisors.
Maintain awareness and check work completed, including in/out correspondence.
Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
Ensure productivity and quality standards among workers.
Monitor billing of third‑party workers such as consultants, contractors and specialists.
Serve as key point of contact within NAC for electrical submittals; review for contract compliance.
Assist with submittal decisions considering CPM schedule (RAR vs RAN).
Attend FATs as required; ensure equipment deficiencies are rectified before shipment.
Assist with awards; review contract documents against quotations and BOMs to ensure full scope.
Generate reports requested by the Operations Manager.
Assist Operations Manager, Purchasing and project teams with defining technical scopes of work, testing requirements, studies, and programming.
Requirements
Construction‑related degree/diploma or equivalent technical training & experience; high voltage installation experience required.
5+ years as an Electrical Project Manager on heavy construction projects.
Proven project management experience (PM certification is an asset).
Experience with facility commissioning/automation and close‑out (asset).
Ability to develop and manage detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates and resource plans.
Track record of productivity, profitability and cost analysis.
Strong computer skills in construction/electrical industry.
Establish key project metrics and manage accordingly.
Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, planning, cost control and engineering drawings.
Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
Intuitive grasp of organizational structure for cross‑departmental resource allocation.
Effective negotiation, diplomatic and conflict resolution skills.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with all levels of staff including technical, professional and upper management.
