About the Role Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the
Costing Specialist
plays a key role in analyzing and maintaining costing data that drives pricing decisions and profitability analysis across machines, parts, and services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a dynamic finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately post transactions including Purchase Orders, Transfer Orders, and Sales Orders
Ensure timely and accurate conversion of sales orders into invoices
Process vendor invoices, analyze cost variances, and elevate discrepancies
Match customs entries to vendor invoices and liaise with customs brokers as needed
Allocate and code freight, cartage, duty, and brokerage costs
Manage sales returns, purchase credits, and intercompany transactions
Track and report freight costs for consolidated shipments
Post journal entries and perform cost adjustments
Support month‑end processes, reporting, and inventory reconciliation
Assist with switchboard coverage as required
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Post-secondary education in Accounting (preferred)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics / Navision) is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Proactive, reliable, and solutions-oriented mindset
Working Environment
Standard business hours with occasional additional hours as needed
Fast-paced, collaborative office setting
Requires extended computer use and strong focus on accuracy
