Job description

Location: Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, 1 Strathcona Parkway, Mount Washington, BC, Canada

Employment Type: Full time, Year Round

Reports To: Accommodations Manager

About Us: Join our dynamic team at Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, a premier destination known for its stunning landscapes and year-round activities. From scenic summer weddings to corporate retreats and festive banquets, we offer a variety of events that create unforgettable memories for our guests. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Accommodations Supervisor to help us bring these experiences to life.

Job Summary: Are you someone who finds joy in turning chaos into comfort? Do you love the idea of working in a cozy alpine setting where fresh mountain air meets fresh linens? As the Accommodations Supervisor at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, you’ll lead the team responsible for keeping our Slopeside Accommodations sparkling clean, organized, and welcoming for guests and staff alike.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee the housekeeping department and ensure high cleaning standards are consistently met while operating a highly functional, organized, and efficient department. From coordinating daily operations and supporting your team to ensuring ALL daily duties are completed, you are the driving force behind creating a warm, relaxing environment that feels like home — just with better views.

From fluffing pillows to managing après-ski messes, your leadership and attention to detail will help deliver an exceptional guest experience every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and manage all housekeeping staff as well as Team Leaders
  • Schedule staff while monitoring hours/overtime, ensuring appropriate number of staff on shift based on occupancy
  • Co-ordinate laundry pick up/delivery
  • Maintain and order inventory – cleaning supplies and in room inventory ensuring it is put away when it arrives.
  • Communicate with Accommodation’s Manager the requirements for linens, pillows, and larger in-room items such as hideabeds, blinds, other furniture.
  • Ensure all rooms are cleaned to department standards and updated on the computer
  • Clean rooms when necessary
  • Co-ordinate and execute annual cleaning & steam cleaning of carpets
  • Ensure all damages to rooms are reported to Accommodation’s Manager.
  • Become fluent with each owner’s special requirements and each suite’s idiosyncrasies
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety policies and standards are met within the housekeeping department, and act as departmental representative on committee
  • Ensure that all staff areas are clean (Fridge, garbage, recycling, linens, vacuum, dishes, bathrooms, floors, 106, office)
  • Lost & Found (ensure all items left in rooms are labeled, documented, and stored in an appropriate place)
  • Master keys are all returned at the end of the day
  • Ensure that Team Leaders and Housekeepers are adhering to Job Descriptions and completing daily tasks
  • Adhere to departmental policies and standards of conduct
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while fostering good team morale
  • Other housekeeping related tasks may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and a love for keeping things clean and cozy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina-you’ll be on your feet and moving all day!
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Previous housekeeping experience is a bonus, but we’re happy to train the right person!
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A sense of humor and a love for mountain life—because we work hard and play harder!
  • Applicants must have access to consistent and reliable transportation to commute to our mountain ski resort location.

Why Mount Washington

  • A FREE Seasons Pass for you, and family passes
  • Health and Dental benefits once met qualifying hours
  • 5% RRSP matching program for those who qualify
  • Bonuses for referring new staff
  • Daily staff shuttle bus, during winter season December to April, from town and the base for easy transportation
  • Resort discounts, including retail, rentals, lessons, and food
  • Access to pro deals and other ski resort reciprocal ticket deals

Resort Conditions:

Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same—and that's part of the adventure! You’ll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountain-top venues only accessible by chairlift. Be prepared to embrace the elements; whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain. Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!

How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you would be a great fit for the position at Mt. Washington Alpine Resort.

Mt. Washington is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Salary Range: $21.0000 To $26.0000 Hourly
