Job Summary
Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Science is a research-intensive faculty that thrives on inclusive research excellence, strategic partnerships, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Director of Student Experience, the Student Experience & Pathways Coordinator is responsible for design and development of advising and communication materials and student programming to align academic and career planning for students on a pathway to a professional degree Nursing, Physician Assistant, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Law). This position coordinates course-planning support, manages pathway communications, and runs strategic student engagement and recruitment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver the Science2Health Pathway and related BA/BSc pathway programming, including developing advising resources, maintaining materials, and supporting student progression.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Pathway students, monitoring progress and connecting individuals to appropriate academic and student support services.
- Plan and execute student-focused programming and events, including pathway initiatives, orientation, transition activities, and success workshops.
- Support recruitment and outreach efforts by contributing to events, presentations, and engagement activities with prospective students, families, and community partners.
- Manage program communications and digital engagement, including maintaining Brightspace, contributing to social media content, and supporting web and email communications.
- Collaborate with faculty and central teams to ensure consistent, accessible, and up-to-date materials and to enhance student engagement, retention, and success.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Education, Science, Health Sciences, or related field with two years’ experience in communications, program or event coordination, and/or student services, in a professional or academic setting (or and equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to translate complex information into simple terms.
- Team‑oriented collaborator who can also work independently and take initiative along with excellent organizational skills and a strong sense of accountability; able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow through.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a student‑centered, equity‑minded approach and an enthusiasm for working with students.
