Quality Assurance Associate

Job Title: Quality Assurance

Responsibilities

• Work from digital work orders on an iPad to track production and verify that all granola bars on the line meet established quality standards.
• Collect product samples at defined intervals for required quality and safety testing.
• Inspect product film seals to confirm they are intact and meet sealing specifications.
• Check and monitor date codes on products while the line is running, ensuring accuracy and legibility.
• Report any product, process, or equipment issues promptly to the quality assurance team.
• Monitor all quality tests throughout the production run until a line changeover occurs.
• During line changeovers, reset and configure the X-ray system according to the new product specifications and run X-ray checks to verify proper setup.
• Perform seal checks by removing products from the line, placing them in a vacuum chamber filled with water, and observing for bubbles to confirm seal integrity.

Essential Skills

• Education in Microbiology or Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 6 months of experience working in quality control or production environments focused on product quality.
• Ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and to show initiative in identifying and addressing quality issues.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, to document findings and communicate with team members.
• Comfort with using digital tools such as iPads or tablets to follow work orders and record data.
• Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food or beverage production environment.
• Previous experience in food or beverage manufacturing, particularly in quality-focused roles.
• Comfort working in a smaller, close-knit team environment where collaboration and communication are essential.
