Analyst, Business Insights, to join our Business Strategy, Planning & Allocation team at Browns Shoes. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics and strategic decision-making within the world of Product, Retail, E-commerce, Marketing & Operations.
You will be responsible for transforming data across stores and digital channels into clear, actionable insights that drive performance. This includes understanding what happened, diagnosing why it happened, and influencing cross-functional teams to take actions based on results. This is not a passive reporting role — you will play a key role in shaping business decisions and measuring their impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performance Analysis & Insight Generation
Analyze store and e-commerce performance across key metrics:
Traffic
Conversion rate
Capture rate
Bounce Rate
Dwell Time
Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities across regions, stores, and channels
Translate data into clear “so what” insights for the business
2. Actionable Strategy Development
Partner with Buying, Allocation, Store Ops/Visual Teams and Digital teams to understand performance drivers and to recommend specific, testable actions
Support test-and-learn (A/B Test) initiatives such as Visual changes, Staffing, Promotions & Digital Experience
3. Measurement & Impact Tracking
Define success metrics for initiatives
Measure results post-implementation
Close the loop by evaluating effectiveness and refining strategies
4. Reporting & Communication
Build clear, intuitive reports and executive summaries
Present insights in a compelling, business-focused way
Influence stakeholders to act on recommendations
5. Forecasting & Forward-Looking Analysis
What We’re Looking For:
3 to 5 years of retail industry experience
Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Analytics, Economics, Commerce, Finance or Supply Chain
Strong analytical skills with ability to connect data to business outcomes
Experience working with Store and E-commerce KPIs
Ability to simplify complex data into clear narrative
Advanced Excel, SQL & Data Visualization Tools Experience (Tableau is a strong asset)
Business Acumen
Strong understanding of retail drivers (traffic, conversion, AOV, assortment)
Ability to think of the business holistically, not just analytically
Pattern recognition and curiosity (“why is this happening?” mindset)
Communication & Influence
Strong storytelling skills with data
Comfortable presenting to cross-functional teams
Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders constructively
Mindset

Ownership mentality (follows through from insight → action → result)
Comfortable in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment
